Zimmer Time!

Hans Zimmer needs no introduction. The 53-year old German-born film composer, who has been in the business for 34 years now, has delighted us with wonderful scores for some of our most favourite films. Zimmer will return to amaze us in the upcoming “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows”, and will re-unite with Christopher Nolan to work on “The Dark Knight Rises”.

In this music video, YouTube user MovieZoneET creates a mashup of epic scenes from popular movies and TV shows, and sets it to a wonderful piece of Zimmer music — “Time” from the Inception OST.

Holy Compilation, Batman!

In the Batman TV series from the late 60s, actor Burt Ward (originally Bert Gervis) played one half of the “Dynamic Duo”, more specifically the embarrassing half. During his time as the Boy Wonder, Ward uttered many ridiculous “Holy,____Batman!” phrases. What follows is a cringe-worthy compilation of those nonsensical exclamations.

MasterChef Synesthesia

Well this is a master class. Youtube user swedemason has taken a selection of soundbites from the cooking game show, MasterChef and created a wonderfully catchy techno tune.

The song, entitled MasterChef Synesthesia, features ingredients pudding expert Gregg Wallace expounding on his preferences for buttery biscuit bases and fellow host John Torode asking for a good dollop of “oomph”.

If you liked that, you may enjoy swedemason’s Jezza Rap.

Pulp Fiction Supercut Contains Just the Cussing

A quick look at Wikipedia reveals that a documentary entitled “Fuck” holds the record for the most number of F-bombs dropped in a film – that would be staggering 824 fucks in the space of 93 minutes.

While there were only 265 fucks uttered in Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction, YouTuber user thecussingchannel picked up a total of 429 swear words in the film, and edited them together into a three-minute supercut. I believe I don’t need to mention that the video may be a teensy bit NSFW.

For an extra dose of cussing, plonk this post in the Samuel L. Jacksonizer.

The Beatles Sing “Smack My Bitch Up”

It’s an unusual combination but YouTuber pleaseunhelpme has mashed together visuals from a Beatles concert at Shea Stadium, New York in 1965 with the audio from the song “Smack My Bitch Up” by The Prodigy. It works surprisingly well. Hell it’s Friday, you’re here and you sure as heck don’t feel like working so you may as well see the video.

You’ll remember that the original “Smack My Bitch Up” music video caused quite a furore back in ’97. Feminist groups in the U.S. weren’t altogether happy its message seemingly encouraging violence against women (the irony), vandalism, vomiting, drunk driving, and drug use. Reminisce about those interesting times after the jump.
