Super “Heroes and Villains” by Josip Kelava

A quick glance at Josip Kelava’s Behance portfolio and it’s easy to see the passion that the Croatian-born graphic designer has for typography. He also loves characters from cartoons, comic books, and video games. In latest series of illustrations, Kelava uses his super Photoshop powers to create portraits for some of his favourite heroes and villains.

He includes elements from the universes in which these characters live, Link’s name for example seems to be spelled out with the triangular elements of the Triforce. Jungle hunter Yautja looks menacing in front of the Predator glyphs, while Superman has his birth name done in the Kryptonian alphabet. Have a look at Kelava’s Heroes and Villains after the jump.

We Review: Le Tour de France 2013

Ah! The excitement, the joy, the thrill of the sheer speed as you whizz around the track and…hold on. Prawn Prime has a note for me here. Let’s see…NOT a motorized vehicle game? Bicycles? Seriously? Man with one testicle?

Oh. Ok. Let me start again.

Ah! The beauty of the French countryside, the wind blowing through your helmet, and the introduction of such nouns as “peloton”. This is the 2013 edition of Le Tour de France, the video game. I guess there’s a lot less speed here than I’d hoped, but I’m nothing if ever the video game optimist. I grab my bagels and baguettes and go see whether the video game version of the Tour is anything like the real Tour.

Deadpool is everyone’s favourite “Merc with a mouth” and all-around anti-hero. If you’re not already aware of his existence in Marvel’s X-Men universe, you’ve got a lot of catching up to do, and a lot to look forward to. The game takes a number of new directions with New Leaf, with many of the decisions being put into your hands. I packed my bags and went to go stay in the new town for a while to see what being Mayor is like.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity is the latest game in the Mystery Dungeon series for the Nintendo 3DS. The basic premise of the game is that of exploring an infinite series of dungeons: the ultimate dungeon crawl game, painted with a Pokémon veneer, you might say. I take up my adventuring gear and head for the nearest dungeon entrance to see if I can find treasure.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 is the sequel to the original Sniper: Ghost Warrior (Ed: Your observations are simply stunning in their accuracy.) and, while other FPS games tend to focus on fast action, teamwork, and hordes of enemies hell bent on filling you with so much lead that they could use you as a pencil, Sniper focuses on a single aspect of the FPS genre. Killing silently and efficiently. Preferably from a gooooood distance.

It’s that time of year again when we faithfully review the latest game in the Naruto series. Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 is the direct sequel to Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 (and not last year’s Ultimate Ninja Storm: Generations, which was more of a filler game).
