A-Team Bootleg Trailer is Action-Packed, A Little Ridiculous

From our last post on the A-Team, it’s evident that both Macross and I were quite jubilant at the thought of A-Team moving from TV to the biggest of all screens. As more info came up, we grew increasingly nervous, and now a bootleg trailer may just push us over the breaking point. Everything seemed fine until the parachuting tank scene. Have a look at the leaked trailer before the suits have it pulled down and someone gets castrated with a rusty spoon. Update: the official trailer is now available.

What do you think? Let us know in the comments.

Faceman (Bradley Cooper), B.A (Quinton “Rampage” Jackson), Murdock (Sharlto Copley), and Hannibal (Liam Neeson) cause merry, campy mayhem on June 11th, 2010.

Update: Here are some photos from the movie. Why? I have no idea.

Update 2: Here’s the second teaser trailer filled with more of the things you like.

Cinema 2009: It’s One Large Montage

2009 certainly saw a surge in movie trailer mashups being posted on the Interwebs. Some very creative people have been slicing and dicing movie footage, and we have posted a couple of those mashups on the blog. The most recent trailer mashup we loved was from YouTube user vadoskincheg who skillfully spliced 50 movie previews together to create one insanely action-filled trailer, Trailer Cut – Volume 1.

Now it seems another movie-loving YouTuber with an equally unpronounceable name – keesvdijkhuizen – has created a tribute to the movies of 2009. One year, 342 movies, and 12 months of hard work have gone into the seven minutes that make up Cinema 2009. Have a look at the montage below.

And if you’re so inclined have a look at Film School Reject’s list of top movies of 2009. I think you’ll be pretty happy with their number one pick ;-)

Let us know your favourite picks from 2009 in the comments below.

Whizz-Bang! The Iron Man 2 Trailer Has Arrived!

I could go on and on about how lovely Gwyneth Paltrow looked in her business suit in the first Iron Man, or how Terrence Howard gave the performance of his life, but I know you’re only here to see the industrialist playboy, genius engineer, the star of the show.

The first trailer for Iron Man 2 has finally hit the web and you can see it in its whizz-bang glory after the jump.

Star Wars Uncut: The Fan-Made Trailer

Thanks to Casey Pugh, you’ll soon see Star Wars: A New Hope in a completely different light. Pugh’s project Star Wars Uncut aims to recreate the iconic film by chopping it up into into 15-second scenes and asking fans from around the world to remake those scenes. At the end of the project, Pugh will stitch the scenes back together and make the geektastic film available for viewing.

The force is certainly strong with the fan, so much so that the trailer for Star Wars Uncut has just been released. Have a look at it after the jump.

The Expendables: Semper Fight

After the release of a bootleg trailer a month back, a new (extended) promo trailer for “The Expendables” has just surfaced. Penned and directed by Sylvester Stallone, it stars the man himself, along with memorable action heroes Dolph Lundgren, Eric Roberts, Mickey Rourke, Jason Statham, and Jet Li.

I was expecting to see gratuitous violence akin to Stallone’s 2008 effort “Rambo” where his actions resulted in 236 lives coming to an end (that’s 2.59 people a minute according to the stats) but I was pleasantly surprised to find what could be the makings of a cheesy ’80s action-thriller. Have a look at the 3-minute trailer below and let us know what you think of it.

Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger are expected to take part. The explosion fest is set to hit U.S. theatres on August 20th, 2010.

[thanks to Macross for the tip]

….and here’s the official trailer (keep an eye out for the cameos).

The Age of Stupid

Hey, I’m in a movie. And so are you. Unfortunately, it’s not a thrilling Hollywood adventure flick where you or I save the world, get the girl, and live happily ever after. It’s quite the opposite.

In The Age of Stupid, the year is 2055 and climate change has devastated the earth, and the last surviving person, The Archivist (Pete Postlethwaite), has assembled an archive of all of humanity’s works of art, literature, and culture in a giant library. He combs through series of documentary footage from 2008, pondering the actions (or inactions) that have brought on the bleak future he lives in. He asks the question: “Why didn’t we stop climate change when we still had the chance?” Take a look at the trailer below.

Directed by Franny Armstrong, the drama-documentary-animation hybrid took three years to make and was financed through “crowd-funding” – 220 people donated between £500 and £35,000 in exchange for “shares”. The Age of Stupid was released internationally on September 21st and 22nd, in a live-via-solar-powered-satellite premiere in over 45 countries, including South Africa. I’m always late to the party so I missed it at The Labia in Cape Town, and I can’t seem to find it on the SterKinekor listings neither. Pity.

Find out about The Age of Stupid on their website, and read the reviews at Rotten Tomatoes.

Raiders of the Lost Ark Circa 1951

YouTube user whosieyevan wondered what Steven Spielberg’s rollicking adventure flick, Raiders of the Lost Ark, would look like if it were made in the 1950s.

He did a little more than just ponder about it – mashing together footage from a variety of films, he created this most awesome “pre-make” that stars Charlton Heston as everyone’s favourite archaeologist. Take a look at the 1951 version of Raiders of the Lost Ark below.

See two more of whosieyevan’s pre-makes after the jump.

The Men Who Stare At Goats

Men Who Stare At Goats. A goofy title with an equally oddball set of characters, one of whom can kill goats just by staring at them. That is all I’m going to say because, today, I’m all about brevity (read: lazy).

No goats, no glory. Check out the teaser trailer below or watch it in HD at YouTube.

Based on the non-fiction book by Jon Ronson, the film stars George Clooney, Jeff Bridges, Ewan Macgregor, Kevin Spacey, and Goat. It’s slated for November 6th in the U.S. and possibly April 9th, 2010 in South Africa according to this list.

[Thanks for the tip Macross]

Admittedly there are only five trailers, but it took a mega-effort for my lazy-ass to compile this shit together. A simple thank you will suffice ;-)
