We Review: Splinter Cell: Blacklist

American author Tom Clancy has penned many a spy novel and since the late 90s lent his name to a range of video game sneak-em-ups including the Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon, and Splinter Cell series. His involvement in the creation of the games may be questionable but there’s a Clancy-esque technical and tactical nature to them. It’s never been a match for my loose and free style of play, as such none of these titles have lit up my radar.

Times are a-changing though, what with the economy on the downturn and the cost of video game development reaching atmospheric levels. Publishers and developers can’t just target one segment of the market as freely as they might have in the past. To broaden its appeal, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist casts a wider net into the pool of gamer stereotypes. As a newcomer to the franchise, I decided to test the waters.

We Review: Syndicate

When I first heard the Syndicate announcement I was filled with nostalgia harking back to the 90s. Those were the good old days of PC gaming. Before Windows became the centre of the universe, where running MS-DOS was the norm, and you needed to edit config.sys and autoexec.bat files just to make things work properly. When Peter Molyneux was still Bullfrog, before EA took over and he ran off to Microsoft. That being said, let’s find out what the new Syndicate game is all about.

Play This: Ninjufo

There’s nothing like a meeting to completely destroy one’s will to live work. It’s an hour I’ll never get back, but thankfully there is plenty of the day left to idly waste ;-)

In Ninjufo, you need to pilot your space craft around a guarded enemy warehouse and with as much stealth as possible, collect 50 crates that contain classified information. Use your shurikens to destroy inattentive enemy ships, but take care not to take too much damage, as some money will be deducted from your haul whenever your ship is destroyed.

Play Ninjufo at Armor Games.
