Happy Star Wars Day

Good morning good peeps and may the 4th be with you. (Big up to MylesO for the awesome pic.)

It’s a shitty, cold, rainy Tuesday here in the Mother City so I thought I’d cheer myself up by posting this little gem – I know it means two Star Wars posts in two days, but I thought you might need something to take your minds off that bat shit crazy Luke and Leia lip locking.

Hope you enjoy this acapella Star Wars tribute.

Galactic Empire State of Mind

You’ve listened to Jay Z and Alicia Keys in Empire State of Mind. Now hear the Dark Lord of the Sith as he teams up with Princess Leia to bring you a rap from the outer reaches of space. Check out College Humor’s parody, Galactic Empire State of Mind.

Disco, Star Wars, and Sea Chicken!

Disco, Star Wars, and sea chicken. It’s an unlikely combination to the majority us, but certainly not to the Japanese, who as we know are clinically insane. In this 1978 spot for Hagoromo, the Star Wars posse do a little dance to shill what I assume to be canned tuna fish. It’s quite odd. See it below.

Darth Bale and the Vader Sessions

It’s Friday we have a Star Wars double feature for you today. First off, back in 2006 YouTube user akjak took sound clips of James Earl Jones from his other movie roles and dubbed them over the Darth Vader scenes in Star Wars Episode IV. The results show Vader as a lonely, confused, depraved man going through a nervous breakdown. It’s totally made of win. Check out the Vader Sessions below.

And next up is Christian Bale’s infamous 2009 tirade mixed into Darth Vader scenes from Star Wars Episode IV. Spoiler alert: Darth Bale is less funny and after the jump.

The All New Star Wars Gangsta Rap: Chronicles

Clearly I’ve been living under a rock on planet Naboo, but I wasn’t aware that Atom Films has been producing animated Star Wars gangsta raps since 2003. The latest in the series has just hit the Interwebs. MCs Vader, Skywalker, Solo, Leia, and public enemy Obi-Wan are back with the illest rhymes this side of the Kessel Sector. At this minute, the force seems to have failed Atom’s embedding system See it below.

And a totally different live-action, potty-mouthed Star Wars Gangsta Rap can be experienced after the jump.

365 Days of Stormtrooper Photos

When stormtroopers aren’t spending time fighting in battles, and not finding the droids they are looking for (even with the help of Google), what do you think they do with their free time?

Star Wars fan and photographer Stéfan Le Dû seeks to answer that question by giving this toys a life of their own and photographing them daily for a whole year. Started on April 3rd 2009, Stéfan’s Stormtroopers 365 project currently contains 285 photos of the troopers generally monkeying about. Have a look at some of the humorous shots after the jump.

Very Important Pixels (VIPs)

Belgian illustrator Kristof Saelen has a way with pixels, and in his “Very Important Pixels” set, it’s amazing how he manages to capture a person’s character with a few pixels. So far, his quirky pixel portraits include the Sopranos, Michael Jackson, Star Wars characters, James Bond, and my personal favourite, a set of 80s TV heroes. Have a look at them after the jump.

Rare Star Wars Photos

Australian-based Lifelounge have come across rare sci-fi images (some previously unpublished) and wanted to share them with the Internet.
