We Review: Ratchet and Clank (PS4)

Ratchet and Clank originally debuted on the Playstation 2 back in 2002 to huge acclaim, partly due to the humour, partly due to the platforming design, but mostly due to the insane array of weapons you can shoot things in the face with. Numerous sequels and HD remasters later, the game is getting a movie based off the first game. This naturally means that the first game needs a reboot. Grab your weapons, unplug Mr Zurkon, and come along as I review this new rebooted Ratchet and Clank.

We Review: Devil’s Third (single player)

Devil’s Third by Valhalla Studios is one of those games that was heavily anticipated, probably because it’s unusual to see an over-the-top violent game like it on a Nintendo console. The game has had a troubling history, what with game engine shifts and publishers shutting down. Still, it’s here now, and we’ve gone a few rounds with Ivan to see what the devil is up.

We Review: Ultratron

Who among you are old enough to remember the arcade game Robotron 2084? Or Smash TV? Or any one of those old top down, dual-stick shooter games that spawned an entire genre. If you do, you’re going to have a massive dose of nostalgia in the form of Ultratron, from the same guys who brought you that other nostalgia-fest, Titan Attacks. Let’s get our guns loaded and our transistors blazing. Or was it the other way around?

We Review: Titan Attacks

Space Invaders was released in video arcades to an unsuspecting world in 1978, and remains to this day one of the most iconic symbols of video gaming. It was followed shortly thereafter by Galaxian and Galaga, and these games set the mould for the “aliens attacking in formation” style of shoot-em-up (or shmup for short). Titan Attacks is a game in that vein, but with a slightly more modern spin on it. I take on the alien hordes in my tank, and risk certain death by incoming alien.

We Review: Gears of War: Judgment

Gears of War: Judgment is the latest game in the sci-fi Gears of War series, detailing the war between the Coalition of Ordered Governments (COG) and the planet Sera’s native locust. I play through this game to find out whether the Gears grind smoothly, or whether it’s just a spanner in the works.
