Lego City Undercover was a game that first appeared on the Nintendo Wii U way back in 2013. A prequel, The Chase Begins, was made for for the 3DS (which we reviewed over here), and we quite enjoyed the game. I never did get around to playing the original, though; this is the perpetual trouble with being a reviewer: new games keep appearing on the horizon that need coverage, so it’s almost impossible to go back and play older stuff unless, of course, there’s a remaster or rerelease on a newer system. So hooray for those! And with that, let’s get into the review of Lego City Undercover! This review specifically covers the Nintendo Switch version, although much of the review can be generalized out to the PS4, XB1, and Windows versions of the game.

We Review: No Man’s Sky (PS4)
No Man’s Sky has been one of those insanely anticipated games ever since we all first laid eyes on it at E3 2015, and it’s finally landed! There’s already been a lot of press about how the game is not what had been advertised and how there is so much missing from it, but I’m going to be fair and review the game based on its own merits, and not on the trailers and early plays that were shown to us. And also, there are a ton of reviews and press that give the game gumph for what we were promised. So how does it REALLY feel to explore the galaxy? Suit up, I’ll meet you in the hangar bay to tell you.
Disney Infinity, released last year, was Disney’s entry to the toys-that-come-to-life genre, alongside the only other entry: Skylanders. While Skylanders had to build their fan base almost from the ground up, Disney Infinity had the advantage of having a built-in fan base and a veritable slew of characters to draw upon. This year, Disney lets its Marvel characters take the helm with the new Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes (aka Disney Infinity 2.0). I strap on my shield, get into my power armour, grab my hammer, sling my webs, and plug in my Awesome Mix vol. 1 to see what the new game is all about.
Movie tie-in games are a dime a dozen, aren’t they? Very seldom are there good ones, and those that are usually aren’t tied to a specific movie release, but have had time to be polished and scrubbed (such as the brilliant Batman: Arkham series). This time around, and tied to the film release of Spider-Man 2, we have the video game. Does it fall into the same traps that so many tie-ins do, or will it be able to web-sling its way out of the mire of tie-in hell? Let’s find out.
We Review: Grand Theft Auto V
I have a confession to make: despite being a gamer for so many of my years, I’ve never played a Grand Theft Auto game before now. So you’re getting the view of the game from the fresh eyes of someone who has never before visited San Andreas, or Chinatown, or Liberty City. Isn’t this exciting? So let’s see the sights of the city of Los Santos as I give you the grand tour of Grand Theft Auto V. Hope you’re strapped in tightly and sitting comfortably on your botty, because this ride is going to be a little…bumpy.
Traveller’s Tales have been on a roll with the number of quality Lego games they’ve been producing lately, and the latest game in their stable is Lego The Lord of the Rings, based more on the movies than on the books. How does the jaunt across Middle Earth compare as a Lego adventure? I took my trusty Mithril controller in hand to find out. (Please note that this review is strictly for the PS3 and Xbox360 versions of the game. Other versions may differ drastically.)
Let me tell you a story. When I was a kid, I used to stay over at my cousin’s place during the holidays. He used to own one of the most amazing comic book collections I’d ever seen, and—to the ire of everyone around me who told me I was being thoroughly antisocial—I spent every holiday reading and re-reading every single one of those comics. He had them all: superlative quantities of Superman, great piles of Green Lantern, judicious amounts of Justice League, and of course, a buttload of Batman comics. I read them all, over and over again. I first got my love of the DC and Marvel universes from those days back then, and I never really lost it. As you, dear readers, know well, I also have a great love of Traveller’s Tales Lego series, so I was justifiably quite excited to get my hands on Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes.
