The Winner of our Mass Effect Competition is….

What a competition! I’ve not quite seen such a scramble for a prize since…well…since ever. We had millions and squillions and willions of entrants. Maybe even jillions! We had more entrants than there are people on the planet, which leads us to suspect that even alien races were entering. Alas, there can be only one dream! One soul! One prize! One goal! One golden glance of…no, wait. That’s Queen.

So, who is going to soon discover that no matter what scars they bear, whatever uniform they wear, they could fight like a Krogan, run like a leopard, they’ll never be better than Commander Shepard? Find out after the jump.

The Google+ Song

Toward the end of June this year, Google launched their social networking service. Like Gmail at its beginning, Google+ was invite-only but it didn’t take long for industrious users to find workarounds and add their friends. Within four short weeks, a phenomenal 25 million accounts were registered Google+. A few more weeks later, and there is even an unofficial ditty about the new social network.

Directed by +Andy Signore, The Google+ Song is set to the tune of Queen’s “Another One Bites the Dust” and tells the story of a lass, +Ashley Pitman, who receives an invite to the service. At first she is bewildered by all the new features but it’s not long before she is muting, blocking, and judiciously creating circles called “Pricks” and “People I never liked”. Check out The Google+ Song below.

If you’re on Google+, how do you go about creating your circles? I love the simplistic approach by Nerfnow:

Finnish Band Sings “Bohemian Rhapsody” in Rusty Car

For reasons unknown to us, Finnish band Porkka Playboys decided to cover Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” from the comfort of a motor vehicle. The four-man group bundled themselves and their equipment into a rusty old Volkswagen Polo and proceeded to bang out the tune. It’s surprisingly good, have a listen to it below.

Star Wars Meets Queen in “Midichlorian Rhapsody”

Guessing from the title, you’d think this is an epic Star Wars/Queen parody. And you’d be right, you big nerd ;)

In six glorious minutes the Midichlorian Rhapsody tells the story of Anakin’s descent into the dark side of the Force. It’s set to the tune of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, complete with new lyrics.
