Around the Block: Gymkhana 6

Ken Block and precision driving go together like copy and paste. In association with the long-in-the-tooth Need for Speed franchise, the king of hoon presents the sixth outing of Gymkhana.

Titled as the “Ultimate Gymkhana Grid Course”, Block jumps slides his heavily modified 650-horsepower Ford Fiesta ST 2013 through shipping containers, under parked excavators, and even has a close call with a wrecking ball (Miley Cyrus sadly not included).

While it might not have the pageantry of Gymkhana 4, it’s still a showcase of his incredible driving skills. If the sound of backfires and tyre squeals is music to your ears, then you’ll love Gymkhana 6. Check it out below.

Ken Block Shows Hollywood Hoon

Little did I know, but a hoon is a derogatory term used to describe someone who likes to drive fast and/or dangerously. Ken Block is known as a veritable master of hoonage and in his latest video, Mr. Block makes the backlot of Universal Studios his playground. Shot in an explosive Hollywood style, Block is on fire as he crashes his modified Ford Fiesta through buildings, avoids animatronic sharks, and runs circles around a Segway-driving simian. If this is your kind of thing, then here’s nine minutes of Ken Block doing what he does best in GYMKHANA FOUR: THE HOLLYWOOD MEGAMERCIAL.

We Review: DiRT3

Codemasters has been pumping out quality racers like no other studio in recent memory. From Fuel to Grid to their fairly recently acquired F1-license, their racers are almost always met with universal aplomb, always delivering polished experiences for the motorheads out there, and the Colin McRae DiRT series is certainly no exception. Offering a symbiotic mix of compulsive progression, accessibilitym and diversity, its end result has never been anything less than pure unadulterated fun. DiRT3 continues this trend (sans the Colin McRae prefix) and while it’s more of a slight evolution than a revolution, you’ll be hard pressed to find a more instantly gratifying racer. Read my full review after the jump.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr. Ken Block

Some say he puts the “me” in awesome and that his testicles are in fact made of steel. All we know is, he’s called Ken Block.

Link Loving – July 9, 2009

I know times are tough at work when I can only manage to do one post a day, and I think today is going to be one of those days. Pity me, but whilst I try to un-break the things I mashed up yesterday here are some cool links for you to look at.
