Goon Tower: The Tallest Tower on the Internet

Whilst the Burj Khalifa may be the tallest man-made structure ever built (828 m), have the most floors (160), and house the world’s fastest elevators (64 km/h), it pales in comparison to the sheer awesomeness that is Goon Tower, the world’s tallest pixel art tower on the Internet.

A collaborative project by the Something Awful Forums from what seems like 2007, the Goon Tower is the world’s largest online building complete with underground levels and hell. Each of the tower’s 400+ storeys was created by a forum member. Including games, movies, music, TV, and a whole lot of cultural references that I just don’t get, the Goon Tower is like a wacky (and often murderous) journey through pop culture.

To see the structure, head to the Goon Tower.

A Volta: Isometric Madness

Nothing says violence quite like isometric violence. In the music video for their single “A Volta”,  N.A.S.A. teams up with a whole bunch of creatives to bring out a nightmarish city scape filled with corruption, narcotics, evil bosses, dodgy henchmen, prostitutes, and piles of cash. The tune’s very catchy and unsurprisingly the video contains strong language, simulated sex, and violence, lots of it. See it below or watch it in HD at YouTube.

NA.S.A. (short for North America South America) is a music collaboration project assembled by Squeak E. Clean and Ze Gonzales. The video is directed by Logan and inspired by the artwork  of the The Date Farmers. It features Sizzla, Amanda Blank & Love Foxxx.

See the making of video after the jump.

Play Wooden Path

Wednesday at work. Could I think of a better way to spend the day? Why yes, I think I can.

Wooden Path is an isometric block-shifting puzzle game that tasks you with creating a wooden bridge to cross a river. You need to position the wooden blocks together so that they make an unbroken path from one river bank to the other. Naturally bridge building is not as easy as it used to be and there are a variety of blocks of different types and sizes scattered around the level to impede your progress.

Keen spacial skills and patience will prove helpful here. Unfortunately when those traits were being given out, I was standing in line for shockingly good looks. Damn!

Play Wooden Path at Kongregate.
