Game of Thrones Characters Reimagined as Mr. Men and Little Miss

You’ll love this. Your favourite Game of Thrones characters are getting an adorable makeover. Each day, this single-serving site will reduce the characters of George R. R. Martin’s epic series of fantasy novels down to their single personality types, in the style of Roger Hargreaves’ “Mr. Men” and “Little Miss”.

Gregor Clegane forms an imposing shape as Mr. Brutal while Joffrey goes red in the face as Mr. Rageous. Littlefinger clearly agrees that his first name should in fact be Pimp. See them and a few more after the jump.

Superhero Origins by The Ninjabot

Back in April, the design collective at The Ninjabot set about creating a collection of minimalist art prints, each one telling the story of how a superhero came to be the way that they are. They called it the Origin series on Kickstarter.

The project started out with six prints, but exploded to 13 different designs, and now with Origin Series Part II, The Ninjabot wants to fund the print run of the “Origin Series” as art book with the inclusion of new character designs. Super “Heroes and Villains” by Josip Kelava

A quick glance at Josip Kelava’s Behance portfolio and it’s easy to see the passion that the Croatian-born graphic designer has for typography. He also loves characters from cartoons, comic books, and video games. In latest series of illustrations, Kelava uses his super Photoshop powers to create portraits for some of his favourite heroes and villains.

He includes elements from the universes in which these characters live, Link’s name for example seems to be spelled out with the triangular elements of the Triforce. Jungle hunter Yautja looks menacing in front of the Predator glyphs, while Superman has his birth name done in the Kryptonian alphabet. Have a look at Kelava’s Heroes and Villains after the jump.

Diggers in Paris: Jay-Z’s 99 Problems, Illustrated

We don’t know all that much about Jay-Z’s problems, just that there are 99 of them of which a bitch isn’t one. Illustrator Ali Graham imagines what tribulations the 50-million-album-selling, seventeen-Grammy-Award-owning rap mogul could face in his life. Broken umbrellas (ella ella eh eh eh), diggers in Paris, and dirt on his shoulder are some of Jay-Z’s 99 Problems. Check out more of them after the jump.

Cute “Darth Vader and Son” Illustrations

Imagine what might have happened if Darth Vader hadn’t met the ignominious end that he did in the Star Wars films. Had the Sith lord not turned to the dark side, Luke Skywalker would still have the use of his right hand and more importantly, wouldn’t have lost a father.

Illustrated by comic book artist Jeffrey Brown, Star Wars: Darth Vader and Son is a series of one-panel cartoons that take a look at the lives that the Skywalkers would have led if Darth Vader played an active role in the growth of his son. Watch Luke as he plays backseat driver, hates on his sister, and gets into a fight with Greedo (who pushed first?).
