We Review: Bioshock: The Collection

This is one review I’ve been looking forward to doing, purely because I still think that the Bioshock series has provided some of the most exemplary and compelling storytelling in recent years. Naturally, the success of the series ensured that it would see an HD Remastering, possibly pulled into a collection of some sort, and wouldn’t you know it? We Review: Day of the Tentacle HD Remaster

The 90s were an amazing time for video games, as is evidenced by the flood of remakes, remasters, and redos we’re currently getting. Adventure gaming was in its prime back then (although it’s recently seen a re-surge in popularity), and one of the major studios involved with making these amazing works of comedy was LucasArts, the video game arm of George Lucas’ company, LucasFilm. One of the most critically successful games from that era, Day of the Tentacle, now has an HD remaster, released by Double Fine productions. Come time travel with me as I review this game.

We Review: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD

The Legend of Zelda is 30 years old this year, and to celebrate, Nintendo are re-releasing an HD remaster of the first Wii Legend of Zelda game, also incidentally the last Gamecube Legend of Zelda game: Twilight Princess. The original Twilight Princess was released in 2006, ten years ago, so a remaster is definitely due. The HD remaster has a bunch of new features, including stamps, extra dungeons, amiibo support, and fully high-def updated graphics. Join me on an updated adventure around Hyrule as we swing swords, fling arrows, and kill bokoblins.

We Review: Tales of Symphonia Chronicles

Tales of Symphonia was one of the most successful Tales games to ever grace the now-aged Playstation2 and now-defunct GameCube, and it saw a followup, oddly enough, on the Wii with Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World. The games were so popular, in fact, that they’ve given rise to books, manga, audio dramas (Japan only, sadly), and four anime films. The two games have been remastered in HD and brought together again for the PS3, now titled Tales of Symphonia Chronicles. Fans of JRPGs would be well advised to join me in this review—I have a few good tales of my own to regale upon you.
