Rammstein’s “Du Hast” in a Cappella

Earlier on we posted about Mike Tompkins doing a beatboxed cover of Rolling in the Deep and Matt Mulholland shooting his mouth off in The Matrix lobby scene. Good things comes in threes supposedly, and we think we may have found it.

Witness the Viva Vox Choir from Belgrade, Serbia as they perform an a cappella version of the only Rammstein song I know, “Du Hast”. It’s possibly be the best thing I’ve heard today.

Game of Thrones: An 8-Bit Theme Remix

As opening credits go, the one to Game of Thrones is quite the spectacle. The music is equally stirring and a number of people have remixed the opening theme to good effect. Roger Lima strummed a rocky cover of it, and YouTube user Brennesselano played the tune on his piano. And now comes another variation of the opening theme, this time in the style of the old 8-bit chiptunes. Check it out below.

If you’d like to download the MP3, the creator, Digitapp, has made it available on his website.

Another Brick in the (Mariachi) Wall

Part two of Pink Floyd’s track “Another Brick in the Wall” has seen numerous covers during the years, from rappers Salt ‘n’ Pepa in the the late nineties to the rocky Korn to Eric Prydz’ dance version in 2007. In 2011 2009, that honour fell to the affable chaps of the mariachi band, Mariachi Cabos.

Mariachi Cabos also covered Michael Jackson’s “Beat It”. Listen to that hilarity after the jump.

Around the World With Señor Coconut

Every day at work I suffer fools, or is it atrophy? The words escape me for the moment. That’s because I’ve got tropical lounge beats knocking around in my head. The Chile-based Uwe Schmidt, or Señor Coconut, marries merengue and mambo rhythms with dead serious electronic music. I suppose you could call it electrolatino music.

Check out his cover of Daft Punk’s Around the World.

The single is taken off the album Around the World with Señor Coconut.

Madcon: Straight Outta Norway

When it comes to music, it’s like I’ve been stuck in a dark closet playing with myself my toys. Once in a while, I find a track that distracts me from the carnal pleasures and gets me hip-hopping. And that track is Beggin’ from Norwegian hip-hop duo Tshawe Baqwa and Yosef Wolde-Mariam. Hear it once, you won’t be able to shake it ;)

Smack My Bitch Up – Beatboxing Edition

It’s Smack My Bitch Up, but not as you know it. Polish beatboxing act Al-Fatnujah perform a Prodigy classic.

Click Play or go to Youtube.

Incidentally, if anyone still remembers Prodigy, their fifth studio album Invaders Must Die is going to be released on February 23rd, 2009.  The single, Invaders Must Die, from the forthcoming album is certainly not as hard-hitting as I was expecting. And it sounded like The Chemical Brothers.
