Vox Populi, Vox Dei

Vox Populi, Vox Dei is Latin for “The voice of the people [is] the voice of God.” In this context, it is also the name of an action/puzzle platformer created by an Argentinian game designer, Weremsoft.

It’s perhaps one of the more off-kilter games out there, in which you play as the blue ninja on a bloody quest to save the woman who broke your heart. She has been captured the planet’s dominant race, the werewolves. Why are they the dominant species you ask? Because they have machine guns in their chests.

The combat is pretty visceral, with a lot of pixelated blood. There is no background music, except the cries of your enemies, as you maul them to death.

It’s a game made for the people, judged by the people – play Vox Populi, Vox Dei at Kongregate.

OMG! What An Awesome Uncharted 2 Trailer

If you ever speak to a PS3 gamer and ask them about the fondest memory they’ve had, more often than not, they’ll tell you about their experience playing Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. Developed by Naughty Dog and released exclusively on Playstation 3 in 2007, Uncharted featured stunning visuals, witty dialogue, a great musical score – the kind of high production values one would find in summer blockbuster films. Named PS3 Game of the Year (2007) by IGN, Uncharted has sold over 2.6 million copies worldwide.

And very soon, fortune hunter Nathan Drake will return in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, being pulled back into the treacherous world of mercenary treasure hunters that he had sought to leave behind. Giving nothing of the story away, the latest trailer for Uncharted 2 shows what you can expect from this epic action-adventure title. Have a look, it’s awesome.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves drops October 13th in the U.S. and October 23rd in Europe. You don’t want to miss this – sell your kidney (or preferably someone else’s) if you have. ;-)

Redesigning Breakout

Breakout is an arcade classic that was first introduced in 1976, and pretty is boring and dated these days. But not any more.

Yoshio Ishii, of Nekogames, has reinvented the classic in his latest game, Redesigning Breakout. It uses the same basic form of Breakout gameplay, but every time the ball hits the paddle, it’s sent off at super-fast speeds, and will return to a slower velocity if you let it hit the bottom.

Gather up your reflexes, and eliminate the blocks before the clock runs out! Play it below or go to NEKOGAMES – via Random Good Stuff.
