Stirling and Hollens Cover Game of Thrones

Musicians Lindsey Stirling and Peter Hollens weren’t fiddling around when it came to their cover of the Game of Thrones main title sequence. The 140 separate tracks that make up their cover are made up solely of vocals and violin. Hollens recorded over 100 vocal tracks and is seen mouthing off as Stirling plucks her violin like a fiery Targaryen. Have a look at their stirring rendition below.

Mad Skills, Yo! The Breaking Bad Remix

If Breaking Bad ever needed a dance theme, this would be it. YouTuber user placeboing uses a selection of sound bites from seasons one and two of the award-winning show to create a catchy ditty that involves some of our favourite characters.

With support from the unhinged Tuco Salamanca, Skinny Pete who can’t spell n’ shit, and the sounds of Don Héctor’s service bell, Walter and Jesse show off their mad skills in the Breaking Bad Remix.

Pop Culture House Sigils Inspired by “Game of Thrones”

Game of Thrones has been showered with much praise and attention. Fans have remixed the opening theme tune, re-created the characters out of LEGO, and even compiled a video of only just the naughty bits.

The house sigils have been of particular interest as well, from the minimalist to the seriously cute. They are the inspiration for a new set of posters, this time if popular characters from comics books, TV, and film were part of the noble houses of Westeros.

Breaking Bad: Requiem for a Dream

All hail the king. Breaking Bad makes its triumphant return in July for the fifth and final season. From images of Walt as Nyan Cat in Breaking GIFs to all manner of amazing artworks, it’s clear that the show has great chemistry with its viewers.

YouTuber user Jswinney1 shows appreciation for the series with this fantastic recap of seasons one through four. Accompanied by the composition, Lux Aeterna, by Clint Mansell, the tribute shows the dire beginnings of messieurs White and Pinkman to the violent rise of Heisenberg.

The Dalek Relaxation Tape for Humans

If you’re looking for a soothing way to relax, this is not it.

According to comedian Peter Serafinowicz, while they were absent from the series, infamous Doctor Who enemies the Daleks created a series of new-age relaxation tapes for humans. Not usually known for their good bedside manner, an extract from the cassette tape has a Dalek issuing a variety of meditative commands with the goal of achieving peace and calm. The Simpsons’ “Game of Thrones” Intro

Winter is coming. Literally. It’s getting a tad colder in the southern hemisphere as citizens prepare for the biting cold that is on the way. They’re also waiting for the second season of Game of Thrones to begin, and in tribute to the medieval show, The Simpsons transform their town of Springfield into Westeros, complete with a despotic king as he watches over the kingdom from Burns Landing. Pop Culture Math Equations

Scottish illustrator Matt Cowan explains the origin of some of your favourite characters be they from TV, film, or comic books. Cowan illustrates them in a minimalist way and uses simple arithmetic operations, such as subtracting an eye to create a series of blind super heroes, or adding a cricket bat and a shadowy pharmaceutical company to his Zombie Maths series.

Minimalist Movie Motors

Graphic designer Brandon Ortwein championed the cause of the humble van in his It Would Have Been Cooler As A Van series. Kevin Henry (Boomerjinks) over at DeviantArt is also putting vehicles in the spotlight with his set of posters. Henry takes famous motors from films and TV and illustrates them in the minimalist style.
