Vagina Bubbles From Hell!

This is ludicrous. No, this is Japan and as frequent commenter and writer Macross likes to tell us, the bomb affected them more than they’d care to mention.

In the movie entitled Female Ninjas: The Magic Chronicles, the assassins are equally skilled in all manner of sexual arts as they are in ninjin’. And in this clip from the movie a female ninja dispatches a foe by using deadly bubbles from her nether regions.

See more bad ninja magic at io9. And speaking of bubbles, you might like what we did to some local bikini models.

Cute Hello Kitty Crossovers

As a tribute to George Lucas, illustrator Joseph Senior from New Zealand decided to combine his love of Star Wars with an insanely popular bobtail cat from Japan. It was a genius idea and has led to him creating more Hello Kitty crossovers with icons from TV, movies, comics, and video games. Have a look at some of his work after the jump.

Star Wars Propaganda Posters

If you liked Silof’s World War II Star Wars action figures (see here), chances are you might just enjoy Cliff Chiang’s latest artwork. The comic book artist also considered Star Wars as if took place in the 1940s and created a set of propaganda posters for the warring sides.

Chiang’s posters were based on the propaganda used at the time including an old war bonds poster, a warning to watching your mouth in front of strangers, and even a rendition of Rosie the Riveter who represented the efforts of women in factories during World War II. Have a look at Chiang’s illustrations after the jump.

“Bless me Father, for I Have Killed!”

Priest is an upcoming 3-D futuristic superhero vampire western horror film loosely based on the manhwa, the Korean name for comics and print cartoons, of the same name. The film is directed by Scott Stewart and stars Paul Bettany, Cam Gigandet and Maggie Q.

Set 100 years from now after the war between Christians and Satanists, the film is about a Christian warrior priest (Paul Bettany) who disobeys church law by teaming with a young sheriff (Cam Gigandet) and a priestess (Maggie Q) to track down a cult of vampire outlaws that is led by a former Christian and now a Satanic priest, Black Hat, who kidnapped his niece before they brainwash her.

The trailer looks awesome, but then again I thought the same of Jonah Hex and look how poorly that did. Fans of the manhwa (Korean comics) have been critical of the movie as it’s made a departure from the source material. The film is set in an altered Earth, where vampires and humans have fought a war for centuries, but the book jumps from different time periods – from biblical to modern – while the core of the story is set in the Old West. In the books, Ivan Isaacs is portrayed as a priest who turns into a demon-possessed undead creature after he witnesses members of the Vatican kill the woman he loves: his adopted sister. In the film he is a mortal priest/vampire-hunter searching for his niece. The books have him face a multitude of enemies including criminals of the Old West, demons, zombies, unnatural assassins from the Vatican, and fallen or mutant angels. The main antogonist was a fallen angel called Temozarela; there were no vampires in the books. The film’s antagonists, however, are only vampires with a leader who was a priest called Black Hat.

Check out the trailer below.

Priest is set for release in the US on May 13th, 2011.

Star Wars Meets Queen in “Midichlorian Rhapsody”

Guessing from the title, you’d think this is an epic Star Wars/Queen parody. And you’d be right, you big nerd ;)

In six glorious minutes the Midichlorian Rhapsody tells the story of Anakin’s descent into the dark side of the Force. It’s set to the tune of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, complete with new lyrics.

Disney Pulp Fiction!

You might have seen Screen Rant’s brilliant Inception/Toy Story 3 trailer mashup and thought it an odd combination. This is the Internet and unlikely things are mashed together all the time, oh like say a scene from Quentin Tarantino’s brutally funny Pulp Fiction dubbed over with the voices Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse. Believe it. The results are hilarious. Check it out below [NSFW – Donald Duck says fuck].

WWII Star Wars Action Figures

Ever wondered what George Lucas’ epic adventure Stars Wars would look like if it were made in the 1950s? YouTube user whoiseyevan imagined just that in his pre-make.

In another blast from the past, custom action figure creators Sillof and Glorbes wondered what Stars Wars would be like if it happened on planet Earth during the time of World War II where the Rebel Alliance were the allied forces and the Galactic Empire were the nefarious Nazis. The first series their joint effort, Star Wars 1942, debuted in 2008 and featured custom action figures including high-flying Captain Hank Solowski, his first lieutenant Chuck Backer, and corporal Lucas S. Walker. In 2010, series 2 debuted with the likes of General Ben Kenworthy, the two steampunk battle droids, and the most menacing Reichsführer Vater. The attention to detail in the figures is quite remarkable. Have a look at them after the jump.

Inception Fan Art: 10 Minimalist Movie Posters

Christopher Nolan’s heist film Inception is in its second week on the South African circuit and according to SterKinekor’s Twitter account this smart, imaginative film hasn’t exactly wowed audiences, who it seems would rather watch any mindless drivel as long as it’s in eye-popping 3D.

SA Box Office Top 5:
1. Grown Ups
2. Shrek Forever After (incl 3D)
3. Inception
4. Cats & Dogs 2 (incl 3D)
5. Knight & Day

While some local people raved about Inception on Twitter, others were a little more circumspect, like Durban writer Noelle Adams who seemed a little underwhelmed in her review of the movie. I’d probably need to see it again but for a summer blockbuster I found it far more visceral and imaginative than anything I have seen in a very long while. But this post isn’t about me, rather other people who liked the movie enough to create their interpretations of it in the form of posters. We’ve searched the Internet to bring you 10 of our favourite minimalist posters for Inception – check them out after the jump.

What Local Tweeps Say About Inception

However right or wrong, I tend to use Rotten Tomatoes as a yardstick when it comes to deciding whether I want to watch a movie. They’ve not always been right, for example Enduring Love garnered 61% and when I saw it I would have rather poked a bear in the testicles, an experience would have been far more pleasurable that what I saw on the big screen. In any case, sometimes you don’t want (or need) to read a lengthy dissertation about a movie by some pompous critic, you want to know what people on the street think about it.

Christopher Nolan’s Inception just released this weekend and in case you wanted to forgo the critics’ thoughts (spoiler: they liked it) and opt for opinions in 140 characters or less, then you’ve come to the right place. We’ve searched high and low on Twitter, from the mother city to eGoli to Polokwane for what South African tweeple are saying about Inception. You might think our sampling might be confirmation bias, but I assure you it’s not – of the tweets we found, only two people fell asleep and Sentletse Diakanyo from Thought Leader seems to have left before it ended – perhaps he couldn’t hold his pee in any longer.

Just watched Inception again…. Awesome… Again… Go watch it…. Now!Sun Aug 01 18:21:16 via Twitter for BlackBerry®
