We Review: Darksiders: Warmastered Edition

Back in 2010, we reviewed the original Darksiders for Playstation 3. You can read our review here, but the basic gist was that it was a decent game worth your time and money. This being 2016, the year of the remaster, we naturally have Darksiders: Warmastered, because of course we do. This review is going to be covering the PS4 version specifically.

We Review: Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS

Last year, the Nintendo Wii U received one of the most brilliant games for it: Super Mario Maker (reviewed by us over here). It allowed you to create and play your own Mario levels, and then connect to the Internet and share your level with the world. To date, gamers around the globe have created well over several million Super Mario Maker courses, which is impressive given the small-ish installed user base for the Wii U. To shake things up, Nintendo brings Super Mario Maker to the 3DS, so let’s grab our construction hats and see what’s new.

Film Review: Moana

Moana is Disney Animation’s latest feature film, and the 56th in a long line of Disney features. The film has a Polynesian setting this time around, a nice departure from the usual European settings that Disney is famous for. Get your floral swimming shorts and paddle and I’ll meet you down on the beach for this review.

We Review: Sid Meier’s Civilization VI

Sid Meier’s Civilization VI is the newest in a series of strategy games in a genre called “4X”, which stands for explore, expand, exploit, exterminate. It makes one sound a bit like a Dalek, frankly. Civilization IV builds on the successes of Civilization V in so many ways, so in our regular review fashion, grab your nukes and meet me down on the battlefield.

Film Review: Doctor Strange

Marvel just loves to introduce new characters to the cinematic universe, doesn’t it? To the ever-expanding roster of characters, Marvel adds Doctor Strange, the mystical Sorcerer Supreme whose job it is to protect Earth from far less physical threats than those faced by the Avengers. Let’s open a portal to the Review Dimension and see what this film is all about.

We Review: Battlefield 1

Battlefield 1 is the sequel to the highly-successful Battlefield 4, because of course it is. Numbers never seem to have been the strong point of many video game developers. Capcom, for a pointed example, took forever to count to three, preferring to put NINE games between Street Fighter II and Street Fighter III (although there was a paltry four games between Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter V, but I digress). Battlefield, as most of you probably know, is a first-person shooter, and this time, Battlefield 1 takes us back to the Great War: World War I. The year is 1918, and everything has gone to hell.

We Review: Disney Magical World 2

It’s still 2016, so that means we’re going to review either a remaster or a sequel again. Seriously, I can count on one hand the number of reviews we’ve done for totally new IP, but a new release is a new release, so we’re going to go back…to the future! Magic Kingdom for Disney Magical World 2! Not only do we get to play with Mickey and Donald and company like we did in 2014’s Disney Magical World (which we reviewed here), we also get a to enjoy a whole new bunch of Disney characters from Anna and Elsa to Lilo and Stitch to Snow White, as well as enjoy the company of some old ones from the last game. Magic wands at the ready?

We Review: Rhythm Paradise Megamix

Look, if you’re not a fan of rhythm games, then you might as well stop reading now. But then you’ll miss out on what could possibly be described as the gateway drug to rhythm games. If this intrigues you in even the slightest, come feel the beat with me as I review Rhythm Paradise Megamix for the Nintendo 3DS.

We Review: Bioshock: The Collection

This is one review I’ve been looking forward to doing, purely because I still think that the Bioshock series has provided some of the most exemplary and compelling storytelling in recent years. Naturally, the success of the series ensured that it would see an HD Remastering, possibly pulled into a collection of some sort, and wouldn’t you know it? Here we are with an HD remaster in the form of Bioshock: The Collection. Meet you under the sea for the rest of the review.
