We Review: SunFlowers

SunFlowers by The Game Atelier is an arcade-style game for the PS Vita that features a sun…and flowers. Hence the name of the game. I took it for a drive to see if I could shed some light on whether I have a green thumb…or a deadly one.

Competition Time! Win “The Splatters” on Xbox 360!

NOTE: This competition has ended.

Who doesn’t love a good competition? This time, the kind folks at Spiky Snail Games have given us a few codes for The Splatters for Xbox360, and so they’re up for grabs. I reviewed the game over here, so if you don’t know what The Splatters is all about, give the post a read. It’s entertaining, I promise.

The game was 50% off to Gold members last week (400 MS Points), but if you missed the sale—or aren’t an Xbox Live Gold member—and you still want to play the Splatters in all its colorful, gooey, splattery glory, all you need to do is answer one teensy weensy simple question, and BAM! Your name goes into the draw for one of the codes!

Question: Name one of the stunt types that can be performed by the Splatters. Hint: I mention a few in my review, but any of the stunt answers will do!

This time, the competition is open to our readers worldwide, so hit the jump, and have at it!

[There was a form here. It is gone now.]

The usual terms and conditions with the exception that entry to this competition is open to anyone, worldwide. It will end at noon (SAST) on Friday, October 19th 2012, after which names will be drawn and the winners announced. Good luck!

We Review: Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance

The Kingdom Hearts series is an ongoing collaboration between Disney and Square Enix, and features characters from both the Disney and Square franchises. The latest in a series with increasingly bizarre names is subtitled Dream Drop Distance. I take up my trusty Keyblade to batter some enemies around and see what this game is all about.

We Review: Wizorb

We’ve seen some fairly strange video game genre mashups happen, and they’ve had various amounts of success. Just when I think they couldn’t jam more genres together, the folks at Tribute Games manage something I’ve not seen before: the mixup of an Arkanoid game with an 8-bit RPG. Does it work? Let’s find out.

We Review: Project Zero 2 Wii Edition

The Wii has mostly been seen as a console for kids or casual gamers, and not really friendly to hardcore gamers. Disproving this view is a Wii remake of a PS2 horror game: Project Zero 2 (called Fatal Frame 2 on the PS2). I braved the chills and scares of this haunting game to bring you this review.

We Review: Ratchet & Clank Collection

Ratchet & Clank has been one of the Playstation’s most favoured mascots (since the fall of Crash Bandicoot, anyhow), with a series that spans over 11 games and counting, and countless tie-ins and media appearances. Many PS2-era games have been seeing HD remakes for the PS3 (as opposed to simple re-releases), and Ratchet & Clank is the latest in this line.

We Review: Puddle

Physics puzzle games have seen a lot of popularity in recent years, and one of the latest additions is the PlayStation Vita version of Puddle, a game that originally saw release on the Xbox 360 and PS3. I find out if the Vita version is worth the purchase.

We Review: New Super Mario Bros. 2

New Super Mario Bros. 2 for the 3DS is the direct sequel to New Super Mario Bros. on the DS. More Mario is never a bad thing (I’ve heard it nosed about that Mario has the most appearances in numbers of video games EVER, but it’s pretty much a case of [citation needed] for that), and games in the proper numbered series are always well anticipated. This time around, the challenge is less on hunting down an errant princess than on collecting as many coins as you possibly can. And you’ll need a lot.

We Review: Rock Band Blitz

Just when we thought the music genre of video games was a dying breed, the folks at Harmonix come up with a way to shake things up. Cue Rock Band Blitz, a rhythm game that doesn’t require a whole new set of peripheral plastic instruments. Let’s rock this review!
