We Review: Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate

Monster Hunter is one of those series that has been around for about…oh, three hundred million years (Ed: 11 years) and has spawned over a thousand sequels (Ed: Once again, closer to 10. Your concept of scale—it worries me), with the first game being available on the PlayStation 2 in 2004. At current, the series has over 30 million in sales (Ed: Actually, this one is correct. For once) and I guess you can say it’s one extraordinarily popular video game series. I grab my sword, my bow, and MY AXE and wander around in search of dangerous prey to review this game.

We Review: Dedede’s Drum Dash Deluxe

Kirby: Triple Deluxe had a few small mini-games built into it, one of which was Dedede’s Drum Dash, a rhythm platform mini game that featured the spheniscidaean monarch. The mini-game has a new release as a standalone, slightly expanded version. I clatter across the kettles, traipse up the tomtoms, and sidle around the snares to review this game.

We Review: The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask

Legend of Zelda fans will already know, but Majora’s Mask for 3DS is a remake of a Nintendo 64 game of the same name. It’s the direct sequel to Ocarina of Time, and has always been one of the most beloved games in the series for its more adult themes and concepts. Does this remake capture the essence of the old game, while bringing something new? I take a trip through time to find out.

Hardware Review: NEW Nintendo 3DS

Console releases are few and far between, so we don’t often get a chance to review a whole machine. The New 3DS a mid-cycle re-releases of the original 3DS, much in the same way that the DS Lite and DSi were mid-cycle re-releases of the original Nintendo DS (or the Gameboy Micro a re-release of the Gameboy Advance. Or the Gameboy Pocket a re-release of the original Gameboy). I got the chance to play around with the new features of the New 3DS. Let’s find out what I discover.

Awesomeness Gadgets Inspirational Designs Mission Samsung Mobile

Hello, Phabulous Phablet!

It’s Mission Samsung time again, folks, and this time around, the wonderful folk at Samsung sent me a Galaxy Note 4 to integrate into my life for a week. For those of you who don’t know, the Galaxy Note 4 is somewhere in between “phone” and “tablet”, and thus it was dubbed the “phablet”. Which sounds a little like what would come from a union of Pharrel Williams and Kate Winslet. One of the best features of the Galaxy Note 4 is that is includes a stylus called the S-Pen, which, among other things, allows for a greater degree of precision and control when writing on the screen.

We Review: Watch Dogs (Wii U)

Watch Dogs appeared on most consoles late last year, but took some time to refactor for the Wii U console. I take this version of the game for a spin to see whether it’s worth hacking.

We Review: Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is a spin-off game from Super Mario 3D World. The eponymous Captain Toad and his faithful companion, Toadette, are out seeking treasure, and it’s your job to help them get it. What makes the game different from your standard platformer is that Captain Toad cannot jump, and he’s not very fast either. I help the Captain of the Toad Brigade on his adventure, and try to view the world from a different angle to review this game.

We Review: WWE 2K15

Wrestling games based on the WWE have been around since before it changed its name from WWF, and featured Shawn Michaels and Bret “The Hitman” Hart and the original Big Daddy Cool Diesel. The latest game in the series makes its debut appearance on Playstation 4 and Xbox One. That’s not the version we’re looking at today. Let’s get the Playstation 3/Xbox 360 version into a half-nelson and hope we don’t get KO’d.

Film Review: Tinker Bell and the Neverbeast

Admittedly, although I like to say I’m a big fan of Disney films and IP, I’m not an expert in the world of Tinker Bell. I have sons, not daughters, so I’ve roped in Bacsha Fakier, an expert on Tinker Bell and her Fairy crew, and she’s gone head to head with the Neverbeast to review this film. If you’ve daughters with a penchant for Tinker Bell and her fairies, read on.
