Look at This Water Bubble in Space

The astronauts on board the International Space Station have access to a range of sophisticated equipment, including a RED Epic Dragon camera that is capable of shooting video at resolutions to 6K (that is, 6144 x 3160 pixels). Naturally, one of first things the astronauts did was to grow a water bubble, fill it with dye and then dissolve an effervescent tablet in that floating ball of water. The results are superb, check it out below. If you have a monitor capable of displaying 4K, be sure to select the 2160p quality setting for the full effect.

To see more 4K videos from NASA, check out their Ultra High Definition playlist on YouTube.

To the Moon in 8,400 Photos

NASA’s Apollo space program is most known for the manned moon landings that took place in the late 60s and early 70s. You’ll remember forerunners like Apollo 7, the first mission to carry a crew into space and broadcast live TV broadcast from the craft, and Apollo 10 the “dress rehearsal” to Apollo 11 which landed the first humans on the Moon. And there was the ill-fated Apollo 13, which you might not have known about if it hadn’t been for Tom Hanks.

Four decades later, we get to see some incredible – and previously unreleased – high resolution photos from the various Apollo missions. Thanks to archivist Kipp Teague from the Project Apollo Archive, 8,400 images from the missions have been uploaded to Flickr and conveniently organized. There’s some incredible details on the space craft, fantastic views of the moon and looking back at the earth, and even some candid shots of the astronauts. Have a look at some of those images.

Lil Dicky Makes Epic Rap Video Without Spending Any Money

Boastful rap videos usually revolve around the rapper’s possessions and their lavish lifestyle. In $ave Dat Money, comedy rapper Lil Dicky creates the typically extravagant rap video with one exception: he didn’t spend any money making it. Lil Dicky (real name David Burd) begged and pleaded his way into wealthy mansions and night clubs to shoot the segments for his video. He was lent a Lamborghini and a yacht in exchange for publicity, and even re-cycled the music video set on which T-Pain recorded “Make That Shit Work”. There’s even an overly long but hilarious verse about being double charged for a coffee in a restaurant.

Fetty Wap and Rich Homie Quan join Lil Dicky in his attempt to $ave Dat Money. Check it out below.

Dude Spends Six Months Making a Sandwich

People often say they make things “from scratch”, but do they really? Andy George from from How To Make Everything took six months — and USD 1,500.00! — out of his life to make a grilled chicken sandwich. He grew the vegetables, made the salt, pickled the cucumber, harvested the wheat, baked the bread, murdered a chicken, and finally put all the pieces together. After all this arduous work, did the sandwich taste of SUCCESS? Find out below.

This Trailer is “Hardcore”

If you remember, Bad Motherfucker director Ilya Naishuller started — and sucessfully funded! — an Indigogo campaign for Hardcore, first ever action POV feature film.

You remember nothing. Mainly because you’ve just been brought back from the dead by your wife (Haley Bennett). She tells you that your name is Henry and congratulations, you’re now a cyborg.

5 minutes later, your wife has been kidnapped and you should probably go get her back. Who’s got her? His name’s Akan (Danila Kozlovsky), he’s just a psychotic megalomaniac with telekinetic powers, and a never-ending army of mercenaries. You’re also in an unfamiliar city of Moscow, Russia and everyone wants you dead. Everyone, except for a mysterious British fellow called Jimmy (Sharlto Copley). He might be on your side. Good luck Henry. You’re very much likely to need it.

You saw a clip of the unfinished film here and it was insane. Now watch the official trailer, which I shouldn’t have to remind you contains liberal amounts of blood and violence (and a scant bit of nudity). This is definitely NSFW.

Canadians are in for a treat. The film debuts at the Toronto International Film Festival this month.

Adorable Animals Eating Other Adorable Animals

Predation is so very cute if you show it in the way that Alexis Solis does. His series of colourful illustrations for Predator vs. Prey shows doe-eyed hunters sinking their teeth into the flesh of their prey. It’s a bloody cute circle of life.

Incredible Images of the Earth at Night

The Blue Marble has never looked so pretty as it does in these images. Shared on Imgur, the images show relief maps of continents around the world, wonderfully illuminated by pockets of light.

South Africa is pictured too, but a local has concerns about the validity of the image.

Have a look at 10 of our favourite images of the Earth at Night.
