Money can’t buy you happiness. But it can surely buy you a flashy ride. If I were so stacked that Warren Buffett were borrowing money from me, I’d like to know what the most luxurious expensive, and in-your-face production cars were so I could by one, you know, for my maid.
The 10 most expensive cars in the world after the jump. And there’s a poll at the end.
10. Maybach 62 Sedan
Bringing up the rear at a moderately priced USD 390,000 is the Maybach 62 Sedan. Founded in 1909, but reintroduced by Daimler Chrysler in 2002, the Maybach is the #1 luxury car powered by a 5.5L twin-turbo V12 engine pushing 612 HP. Chauffeur is not included. Pity.
9. Porsche Carrera GT
Priced at USD 420,000 the Porsche Carrera GT is powered by a 5.7L V10 engine producing 612 HP, and goes from zero to 60mph in a quick 3.5 seconds. 100mph will be up in 6.8 seconds. The Carrera GT was given the wheel base, air dams and carbon fiber body elements of a pro racer with street legal sensibility.
8. Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren
The production of this USD 450,000 chick-magnet ended this year, but the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren comes with a 5.4L V8 that generates a maximum power output of 626 HP, taking it from zero to 60mph in 3.6 seconds. Top speed is 208mph.
7. Koenigsegg CCX
It’s worth USD 520,000 and obviously none of that money was spent on choosing a decent name. The Koenigsegg CCX hits 60mph in 3.2 seconds. Powered by a 4.7L V8 engine with two centrifugal superchargers, the CCX pushes out 806 horsepower!
6. Saleen S7 Twin Turbo
Straight out of California, comes the Saleen S7 Twin Turbo. It’s powered by a 750 horsepower V8 engine with twin turbochargers, capable of getting it to 60mph in just 3.2 seconds; in 27 seconds, it’ll be hitting 200mph! It’s priced at a cool USD 585,000.
5. SSC Ultimate Aero
The SSC Ultimate Aero is the fastest production car on the planet with the production speed record at 256.15mph! Manufactured in America by Shelby Supercars (SSC), the Ultimate Aero houses a 6.35L twin-turbo V8 pushing out 1183 horsepower. It retails for USD 620,000.
4. Enzo Ferrari
Named after the founder of Ferrari, the Enzo Ferrari is a USD 640,000 sexbomb with a 12-cylinder mid-engine that can accelerate to 60mph in a blazing 3.14 seconds. Top speed is clocked at 220mph. It uses F1 technology for body construction, sequential transmission, and braking. Only 400 of the Enzo Ferrari were produced, so if you don’t have one now you’ll most likely never will. Unless you steal it of course.
3. Lamborghini Reventon
The Lamborghini Reventon is a limited-edition, mid-engine sportscar that only 20 of the world’s richest racing fans can afford. Why? Because it costs USD 1,300,000, and only 20 were produced. It’s powered by a 650 horsepower V12 engine that sends the Reventon to 60mph in 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 210mph.
2. Bugatti Veyron
The Bugatti Veyron is the stuff of dreams, very expensive dreams mind you. Costing USD 1,400,000 the Veyron is powered by a 987 horsepower W16 engine [thanks Geoff!] capable of taking it to 60mph in 2.46 seconds and a top speed of 253mph. Now that’s lustworthy.
1. Aston Martin One 77
Sex-on-wheels. Coming (get it?) in at USD 1,500,000 the Aston Martin One 77 is a V12-powered supercar exceeding 60mph in 3.5 seconds on its way to a 200+ mph top speed. Only 77 vehicles will be produced and they’re already been sold.
There you have it. Which car is your favourite? Let us know in the polls.[polldaddy poll=”1282909″]

The poll should have multiple select options :P
That’s a really bad pic of the CCX… It’s doesn’t do it any justice at all :)
@MaXiM – fixed. The CCX now looks svelte & romantic ;)
those cars are dirt cheap compared to the really expensive supercar, the Zenvo ST1.
The Zenvo ST1 comes in at a wopping 4 007 000$ US
and it is fast enough do to 400KM/h+ with the electronic limiter taken off ( limits the car to 375KM/h . 1104bhp(850kW) – 1430Nm(841lb-ft)
Correction: the Bugatti Veyron has a W16 engine, NOT a V16. It’s two V8s connected together essentially.
Hello you missed out the all important one the first ever formula one car for the road and the fastest car in the world for nine years of course it’s the mclaren F1
How to choose one is the big question
Hello, I think you should add one car to this list !
It is Maybach Exelero, the most expensive production car in the world today.
It has 700HP and accelerates from 0-100km (0-62) in 4.4 sec. Max speed is 351 km/h or 218 mph and it costs insane 8.000.000 dollars.
The Zenvo ST doesn’t have a set price yet. The list is missing the Pagani Zonda F at ~$660,000. Also missing, the Mazerati MC12 at ~$960,000, and the B Engineering Edonis at ~$600,000.
The guys that have posted these cars are also missing the legendery as well as the classic 300 SL Gullwing. That’s one beautifull car
Hey where’s Maybach Exelero? It is more expensive than all these cars!
The limited edition of the Koenigsegg Ccxr, “Trevita”, which is the same as the Ccxr, but will be made entirely out of “Diamond coated carbon fiber”, is more expensive than the standard. Also, they only made three of them. SSC is currently beginning production of an all electric, but still 1001 Hp, version of the ultimate aero, which will probably also be more expensive.
:skeleton: what about the mercedes CLK-GTR? those cost 1.7 million USD. It might not be able to perform with most of the cars up here, but it has some price tag.
You guys forgot the Ferrari FXX with a pricetag of US$2.1 million (before taxes)e, it would be the most expensive in the list.
I got to go for a ride in the McLaren F1.. But sadly that’s not in this post :(
Someone all so forgot to put the Bugatti Veyron super sport with the price tag of 2.7 mil.
Dude, why pay that kinda money, I have a 08 dodge charger r/t with a ram air hood K&N intake, predator diablo auto tuned, borla cat exaust, sms-296 saleen supercharger, brilliant black pearl paint, Black widow 18 inch rims, blacked out tail lights and head light lenses-smoke…. And I didn’t pay a 16th of what they paid and I GUARANTEE my charger will run with anyone of those mentioned cars.
