Emma Hack: Taking Body Art to a New Level
Australian artist and body illustrator Emma Hack used to work as a hairstylist and make-up artist in Adelaide, until 1999 when she revealed her stylized version of body painting. Her series of Wallpaper works merge the human body with the lush wallpaper designs of Florence Broadhurst. Emma’s work shows naked bodies so well camouflaged against wall coverings that it’s sometimes hard to see them. Not me though, I can spot boobies from a mile away.

When men are shown images of women in bikinis, the part of the brain they use when thinking about DIY tools and other objects lights up.
At the same time, the region they use to try to tune into another person’s thoughts and feelings tunes down, brain scans showed.

Travis, a 15-year old chimpanzee who once starred in TV commercials, got his ass shot up my the police after mauling a woman and injuring two police officers.
His owner Sandra Herold treated him like a son, but when family friend Charla Nash called at her home in Stamford, Connecticut, Travis suddenly went bananas. As Mrs Nash alighted from her car, the chimp pinned her to the floor and began mauling her face and hands. Unable to get the beast off her friend, Mrs Herold grabbed a knife and stabbed her pet several times.
Travis bolted into woodlands as police arrived but returned shortly, smashing a wing mirror of a police car, opening the door, and attacking the occupant. Not wanting to die by the hands of a chimp, the trapped officer drew his service revolver and shot the animal several times. Travis limped away to his playroom where he crawled back in his cage and died.
Mrs Nash is fighting for her life in hospital, and Mrs Herold is believed to have had a mild heart attack.

Jeff Jordan is an American painter whose favorite “ism” is surrealism.
I think that once artists learned to paint the world around them – call it ‘realism’– it was a short step to paint imaginary realities. Maybe the Greeks were the first surrealists, with all those stories about centaurs, mermaids, satyrs, and so on. Mythical creatures, visions of heaven and hell, dreams and nightmares – artists have always painted realistic images of worlds which never were. Surrealism has existed in various forms nearly as long as realism, and I consider it to be the second “ism.”

Forget any notions you may have about being the most romantic girl/guy in the world. Acts like not farting in bed and occasionally letting your partner shower first pale in comparison to the most romantic species in the world: seahorses.
Seahorses hold tails, change colours, and whirl about together for days before their true courtship dance, which happens to last about eight hours. When was the last time you satisfied your partner for 8 labourious hours? The cherry on the top of this is that the male of the species becomes pregnant and carries the offspring.

With his concept entitled Immaculate, designer Hans Alexander Huseklepp explores new possibilities for prosthetic devices, where they become both functional and fashionable. Immaculate is clad in Corian plates and functions as a neurological prosthetic, connecting directly to the wearer’s central nervous system. It also features two globe joints allowing for more flexibility than a human arm would have.
Might this concept be the future of prosthetics? I can easily imagine a world where normal arms are hacked off and replaced with sexier Immaculates. I’d rather keep my arms (I’m quite attached to them) and have a couple of these buggers grafted on, Doctor Octopus style ;)
