Flash Game Friday: Bloody Fun Day

Being the grim reaper has its perks – black is always a fashionable colour, and no one in the right mind is going to pick a fight with a scythe-carrying skeleton. Perfect for Friday the 13th, Bloody Fun Day is an addictive puzzler where you get to play as the reaper bringing death upon cute little critters and and harvesting their tasty souls.

Each movement on the board decreases your health and if your health reaches zero, you’ll perish. To stay alive, you need to kill the red cuties to regenerate health; killing the other cuties will help charge various special powers that make it easier to get to the red cuties. You’ll need to plan a path out and think a few steps ahead – avoid getting into a spot where you have nowhere to go or have to stomp on eggs to get to the cuties.

What is on Your FuckItList?

“WTF is a FuckItList?”, I hear you ask? Comedian Michael Ian Black tweeted that he was creating a list of the things he doesn’t need to do before he dies, so it’s the antithesis of a bucket list, and Black decided to call it the FuckItList. He also asked his 80 000+ followers to create their own FuckItLists, which caused a rapturous response, apparently resulting in the term “#FuckItList” to rise to the top on Twitter Trends.

I’ve made a start on my FuckItList:

  • Buttseks – Pushing in stools is not my thing.
  • Winning the lotto – I have reconciled this will never happen.
  • Having Megan Fox for dinner – She probably doesn’t taste that good anyway.
  • Writing a book – I have to actually read a book first.

Death by Over-Indulgence

In her Drop Dead Gorgeous series, artist Daniela Edburg makes kitsch photographs of women murdered or about to be killed by consumer goods. The women are obsessed with these products, and their over-indulgence leads or will lead to their untimely deaths.

Asked why she consumer goods had a sinister effect on the women in her photographs, Edburg says:

I guess I am pretty compulsive. That which gives me pleasure one minute, causes guilt the next. I am surprised at how much I like the products I consume, but, if you stop for one second to think about it, it’s absurd. Yet, you can’t stop. [The work] is not a criticism it’s just an exaggeration of my own reality.

Tontie is an evolved whack-a-mole game where you use the numeric keypad to whack the Tonties as they appear. Each number corresponds to the hole Tontie pops up from. There are 20 stages. Can you defeat the last boss? I’m totally useless at this and being the bad workman that I am, the rubbish laptop keyboard is entirely to blame.
