Don’t mess with this scooter

I’ve always thought that scooters or vespas or whatever you call those silly little motorbike-type things were just well…silly. Until I saw this baby on Neatorama.

Apparently, these awesome scooter-canons were born in France after World War II. Devasated by years of war and German occupation, the French could not afford to buy or build sophisticated military equipment. Never ones to give up when the going got tough, the French made the best of what was available, and came up with the brilliant idea of mounting 75mm recoiless rifles on scooters. Link Loving – April 07, 2009

Egad. I’m all over the place today, like a chicken with a loose anus. :poop: Yes, it’s probably best if you don’t imagine what that’s like. Here are some links to keep you occupied whilst I get my head out of my ass.

Is it a Bird? Is it a Plane? No, it’s a Frenchman.

But this is no ordinary Frenchman. Alain Robert, the man universally known as “The Human Spider” for his unique way of climbing (without any safety tools whatsoever) has been climbing some of the world’s tallest structures since the year 2000. In February this year, he climbed to the top of the 62-story Cheung Kong Centre in Hong Kong and unfurled a banner reading “onehundredmonths.org” near the base of the tower before climbing.

And just the other day on April 2nd, this nutter travelled to London during the G20 summit and scaled the outside of the 14-storey Lloyd’s Building in central London to protest about climate change. Robert climbed to the ninth floor and unfurled another yellow banner warning of “100 months” to save the world. 20 minutes later, he folded it up, climbed back down, and promptly got arrested by the UK police, presumably for being French or something.

Read the full storey (get it?) at The Telegraph.

Work Avoidance Monday: Play Civiballs

Monday is a terrible way to end a perfectly good weekend. I’m always in a funk; it has something do with work avoidance as my extremely-overpaid therapist tells me. She licks her own ass, her breath smells of stanky fish, and she spends most of the day sleeping, so I hardly think she’s an expert in the field of psychotherapy. But she does look very cute, and is always eager to sit on my lap and knead my crotch region for hours on end. Which brings me to our timewaster for today, Civiballs.

In this puzzler that takes place in Greece, Egypt and China, you need to get your multicoloured balls into the similarly-coloured receptacles. Use your knife to cut the chains and release the balls. Play Civiballs at Kongregate.

Here be Dildos: The Brüno Trailer

Sacha Baron Cohen is back! Borat was crude and totally hilarious, and in the first trailer for his new movie, Brüno, Cohen goes down the same distasteful path but with added homosexual humour, more nudity, and of course, dildos.

As Bruno, the gay Austrian fashion reporter, Cohen causes a metric fuckton of trouble wherever he goes. The movie also known as Bruno: Delicious Journeys Through America for the Purpose of Making Heterosexual Males Visibly Uncomfortable in the Presence of a Gay Foreigner in a Mesh T-Shirt is due for release in July 2009 and has already been rated NC-17 by the US censors.

Watch the trailer below [Contains some NSFW content].

Winners Weekend: The 2009 SA Blog Awards

I’ve have been nursing a massive hangover resulting from the drinks party held at our place last night. It’s the marching band in my head all traded their musical instruments in for flippin’ jack hammers. Those uncouth bastards. But I digress.

The winners of the 2009 SA Blog Awards were announced last night and posted on the website this morning and in case you missed it here are the results:

Congratulations to all the winners, especially to the pimptastic 2oceansvibe.com for scoring six awards! There is no “i” in team but there is in win ;)

Bendito Machine III

Peruvian-born Jossie Malis is an award-winning illustrator and animator who surely thinks out of the box.

His latest animated project, Bendito Machine III features an ancient civilization and their interactions with modern technology. A village elder discovers a television and the tribe is fascinated with the new object, becoming overly-obsessed, and eventually hailing it as a god. One villager sees its evil nature and must find a way to destroy it.

With its minimalist colors and quirky sounds, Bendito Machine III is full of symbolism and certainly one of the best flash animations I’ve seen.

Edit: It seems one can only watch Bendito Machine IIIon Vimeo, so head there or watch the YouTube version below:

Bendito Machine I and II are after the jump.
